Ventura almost DIES! Cassano Back to Bari?

By: Eros Miranda | September 10th, 2009

NO, this isn’t a plot to bring Antonio Conte back (or is it?).

The incident happened as Ventura was leaving the Stadio San Nicola after Bari’s practice. He was driving along in his new AUDI A5 when out of nowhere a car destroyed his precious vehicle. His new car was a mess and Ventura was rushed to the hospital in shock. They say it was because of the accident but I think it had something to do with the way his new car ended up.
(Things between Ventura and Barton must be going well)
Also, for all the Baresi in Italy, try avoiding exit number 8 in our stadium. It is said to be extremely dangerous thanks to the exaggerated speeds that cars travel as they pass by it. But then again Italians were never considered to be the best drivers in the streets. Either way Ventura is said to be fine but he is very lucky to have escaped death. No word yet if he can make the weekend match but we hope he has a speedy recovery.
Extraordinary news also broke out about Cassano coming back to Bari. Thousands of Bari fans sent letters to our president Barton expressing their desire to see Cassano back in a bari jersey and he already put the wheels in motion. Apparently he asked his agent how much money it would take to bring him back to Bari. The answer is simple my dear president, 18 million Euros. That’s Cassanos release clause and a sum that can easily be paid by Barton. Now it seems unlikely that the fans dreams will come true anytime soon as they want him in the January transfer window, but if Bari gets a mid-table finish this year than it is very likely. Antonio already moved to a smaller team once (Sampdoria) and a move to his homeland and pride could be exactly what he needs. I already have a vision of our stadium falling once again at the feet of Il Nostro Cassano.

Per Sempre Bari

Please, please. please let this happen!!! Though the cynical Italian in me, doubts it, the return of il Pibbe di Bari Vecchia would be more than a boon for our team.

If Cassano were to return home, a full stadium and being a force in the Campionato and europe would surely follow.

Hey Ale, I think playing in Torino is just what the Nazioanle needed, eh? What a performance from the Juventini!! That save Gigi made was Gordon Banks v Brazil-esque. Simply amazing!! And Iaquinta’s and Grooso’s goals epitomize the beauty of Italian football.

Let’s all dream about Cassano, it would truly be sensational. By the way mike, did your parents ever take pics or videos of the game against bologna?

And I agree, ITALJUVE was magnificent. With ADP and Amauri it will be 9 juventini.

I missed the game this morning, but it seems like a good result for the team. I’m going to hunt around and try and find a replay, I’ll post it here if I find it.

Alessio it was a great game but even though in paper it looks like a great result, it was total heartbreak to lose another two points in the last seconds. Either way its a strong start and we just need a bit more luck and we’re heading into a bright season. A post-match will be up with the highlights.

    Forza galletti!

What a resounding victory for the lads!!!

Baretto….that kid is a difference maker. If only we can pry him from Udinese’s grasp

Good to see all the hard work Alvarez puts in paying off with a goal
Also glad that Donati has opened his account

Hopefully another win v. Cagliari in the midweek is in the cards

    Forza Galletti!!!
