SOLD! (To Americans?)
By: Eros Miranda | August 13th, 2009
You read right, Our Bari has been sold to Americans, Texans to be more specific. To be honest the only thing that keeps me from being disgusted by this news is the fact that this could give us an economic boost. I have nothing against the Matarrese Family, it was the right time to sell but what do TEXANS know about Bari. I’m pretty sure that they wouldn’t even be able to locate Bari on a map, or Italy in that matter. Even heard that he is looking to recruit some of the players from the Dallas Cowboys to play for us.
But ok ok jokes aside, allow me to intruduce you to our new Presidente:
Timothy L. Barton: Began his career as in a real estate business in Connecticut with his family. Soon after he moved to Texas and formed a company called JMJ Holdings. The company soon became a major prospect by buying, forming and then selling four businesses.
Two things scare me about this guy-
#1. He has no experience in anything sports related, hell look at the picture, the guy is really far from a sportsman.
#2. He is known for using businesses as an opportunity to make his JMJ Holdings company even bigger. Who knows, he might be using Bari as a leap into foreign affairs.
But for the sake of our team lets look at the positives from this-
#1. Barton has closed over two-billion dollars in transanctions. So this means $$$$$$.
#2.If he proves me wrong and is actually interested in the benefits of the club then he has the power to turn us into an top class team.
Lets hope pray for the best and see what happens.
Per Sempre Bari

Agreed, it’s a risky thing. On one hand, a manager from half a world away with seemingly no previous interest in the club … but on the other hand, staying in Serie A will take money. Good luck. I hope he’s a better owner than his resume suggests, for your club’s sake.

Well think about it – the Glazers had to start somewhere…

I see it very negatively. I don’t like the Glaziers or Abrahimovics, but they are out there to use their club as a personal toy. A “my dick is bigger than yours” if you will among billionaires. These guys just seem like they are going to squeeze as much money out of the club as possible. We’re not growing Sheik style, this is a, “we’re-stuck-in-mid-table-because-we-keep-selling-our-good-players.”
Funny thing, my mom is Texan and my dad is Barese. What a coincidence.

Same here Aquismaia, Calcio has always stuck to their roots and maintained an italian ownership but I guess that we have to look at the bright side, even though right now it’s pretty vague.

Not exactly a positive development but in this economy, better money coming from somewhere than none at all.

Excellent news, a Texan owning Bari. Let’s see Dallas Cowboys,Dallas Mavericks, Houston Astros, Dallas Stars. Maybe owners who now how to win is what Bari finally needs.
Texans don’t like to loose.Posted from
