Meet The New Veron

By: Eros Miranda | August 21st, 2009

Just like Vincenzo stated the Almiron deal is finnally OFFICIAL. Bari have signed Almiron on loan for a year, giving him a chance to get his career back on track and silence his critics. For those of you who don’t know him he’s a 28 year old Argetine born center-mid. Before joining Juve he was an overall solid midfielder, providing force, drive, assists and goals. When he moved to bigger clubs (juve, fiorentina) everyone expected his career to take off but instead it proved that such a step was still too early in his career. Now Almiron is looking for a chance to prove everyone wrong and prove that he is not the bidone that everyone labels him as. If we make him the solid point in our midfield then not only will he become great again, but Bari will also benefit hugely from Almiron’s Empoli days. Heres a video of some of his goals for Empoli, he scored a beautiful goal against juve in minute 3:05.

Also, coming up is the Inter Pre-Game and introduction of Iago Falque.

Per Sempre Bari

What’s the deal with Iago? Did the deal go through, because it wasn’t reported on our website and I don’t see him on the Bari squad either. Plus, he played for us on Monday, the day that the loan deal was announced on football-italia.net.

Nnahoj the Iago deal is just like the Almiron deal, a one year loan. Everything is set and done with just the official announcement to be made. I think the only think that could cancel everything out is if Diego gets badly injured for Juve, since Giovinco is out injured Iago would be the only trequartista available for them. But very soon we should recieve an official announcement from juve and bari.

I would love to see it Eros, but Almiron has a LONG way to go before he is even in the same stratosphere as la Brujita.

I look forward to the Iago signing, just make it official already!!

    FORZA GALLETTI!

PS..I talked to my old man today, and told him he has to go the game v Bologna next week, or else. Hopefully I will have some pictures and videos to share from beautiful Stadio S. Nicola!!

Mike I hope that Almiron can be Bari’s own Veron, even though we know that in world football he is a lifetime away from la brujita. You represent all the anxious Bari fans that are awaiting the arrival of Iago. I really hope you’re Dad can make the game, it will be great to have an inside look of the atmosphere in our first home match. If he does go tell him to take many pictures and I will insert them in a blog.

I agree Sam, and I for one think Almiron can be what he was at Empoli. I believe that some players are better suited to flourish at the lower profile clubs. As opposed to clubs like Juve and Fiorentina, where the bright lights and high pressure are sometimes to much to deal with.

I cant wait until Sunday morning, this has been a LONG time coming. Hopefully we put on a good show and shock the world ala Burnley in the EPL

I don’t think Iago’s loan is really conditional on Diego getting injured, it’s probably just a matter of contracts and getting it hashed out. Bari’s DS said Almiron would be concluded this week, Iago will be discussed in the next week. If Diego and Gio are out, either ADP plays deep or we go to 4-4-2/4-3-3.

Speaking of Almiron, I have ragged on him a lot at the Juve Offside and though he never got a fair shake at Juve, I never thought he had the quality to make it at a big squad. I have no doubt if he can rediscover his Empoli form (where a midfield is built around him, not thrown into the fray) he can be a protagonist in the squad. I still think Bari’s D is not strong enough.

Sam I also agree with you, and Mike you have no idea how anxious I am to see Bari in the Meazza, I have a feeling that we will surprise the calcio world on sunday.
Alessio i totally forgot about Del Piero playing behind the two fowards but I don’t think Juve is creative enough in the 4-4-2, hopefully Diego will stay fit throughout the whole season. I expect GREAT things from him. About Bari’s defence, i agree with you alessio. I think it is currently our weakest point and Ariaudo would have been very helpful to secure safety. Now Ranocchia most really come through and burst into the scene, were going to need him this season.

Btw alessio, I read that Ranocchia will go to Juve next season to replace Cannavaro. Juve is going to pay his buy-out clause for Bari and then their going to take him from Bari. It will be sad if Bari can’t keep him but I also think that in 4 years Ranocchia and Chiellini will be the best partnership in not only calcio but world football. Either way Forza Galletti, Forza Bari!!

Speaking of defenders, is Andreolli joining from Roma???

Seems the Roma tifosi dont have too much confidence in him at the present time, though I think the team would be foolish to let him go. But the Giallorossi’s loss could be the Biancorossi’s gain

Mike roma will announce todday the signing of Nicolas Burdisso but I personally think that Andreolli can become twice the player that Burdisso ia. He is a solid point in Italy’s U-21 and he looks likely to be part of the national side soon. Either way a move looks very likely but so far there have only been voices going around. LEt’s hope he comes because our defence is looking a bit vulnerable right now. Forza Bari!

Agreed on Andreolli/Burdisso. Burdisso has peaked, and not too impressively so.
